Celebrating Canada’s birthday

It’s almost here! Canada’s 150th birthday celebrations have been going on all year long, but July 1st is now only a week away and we are sure your family and friends are planning activities to celebrate. It looks like Ottawa is going to be one hoppin’ city for the big day.

This week on “Let’s Talk Money with Dave and Reb”, the hosts look at dozens of stereotypical and not-so-stereotypical ways you can celebrate Canada’s birthday. If you are eating poutine,  Kraft Dinner, Beavertails, or a Jos Louis or visiting museums, the Thousand Islands, Parliament Hill or Canadian tire, or you are throwing a 150 Party – whatever you do – Dave and Reb want to encourage you to do it with family and friends and community.

And celebrating doesn’t always need to be expensive. Pack a picnic, or share your meals. Find a Groupon, or go to the library and order museum passes to help with costs. Sometimes it just takes creativity and planning. You don’t just need to celebrate on one day either. You can plan outings and activities all year long.

From everyone at “Let’s Talk Money with Dave and Reb” and the family at More Than Enough Financial Fitness, “Happy Canada Day” and enjoy your celebrations!
