What to do with worry
Over 2000 years ago, Jesus told us not to worry about what we would eat or drink, but to trust in the love and care of our Father in Heaven. On today’s radio show, Dave and Reb talk with Rev. Ray Borg from Compass Canada about the anxiety we face when it comes to our money troubles, and how we can find that place of trust over and over again.
In Matthew 6, Jesus tells us that worry will not add one good thing to our lives. All we need to do is look at the flowers or the birds of the air to know that God is the source of provision and care.
However, sometimes it does feel like God isn’t coming through or breaking through in our own story. To find encouragement and hope, Dave and Reb direct listeners to stop running from the problems, or fighting about the issues. They understand that people can try working harder to solve their financial problems, but working harder may not provide the answer either.
“God is always inviting us to come into His presence to find the answers,” Reb says. “Prayer and worship may not seem like the right answer in our flesh, but it is what our spirit, soul and mind really need.”
It is from that place, God may give you practical direction, or cause you to rediscover His love and heart for you.
“Or He may just ask you to wait,” Rev. Ray says. “And that can be the hardest part.”
