Let’s Talk Money’s regular guest Ray Borg joins Dave and Reb today to introduce Compass Canada’s new overseeing ministry of Financial Discipleship Canada (FDC).

As FDC’s Ministry and Church Liaison, Ray says the ministry is a voice for discipleship in the church today. It is the covering for the ministries of Compass Canada, the Freedom Initiative and Advisors with Purpose, all three of which deal with how money, finances and materialism connect with discipleship.

“Life is more than just about giving and tithing, but about our relationship with God,” Ray says. “We want to see people growing more and more like Jesus, trusting God as the Source.”

FDC is about finding freedom and liberty in serving God, as we live under the influence of the Holy Spirit not under the influence of money and possessions.

“Part of discipleship is learning how money impacts our relationship with Jesus,” Ray says. “And that can be an interesting discovery.”

Dave says we can either see with the eyes of the world or with Kingdom eyes: “It is important to see money in the light of Christ, and see ho

w He sees our lives.”

FDC is a place where people can find study material to help them learn about God’s perspective on finances (Compass Canada), financial coaching (Freedom Initiative) and how to invest what you have (Advisors with Purpose).

At the end of today’s show, following their discussion of the Parable of the Talents found in Matthew 25, Dave leaves listeners with a question to consider when they are out living their lives and spending money: “How will this purchase – the money I spend today – further Your kingdom?”

It is a question that challenges our thinking about the Kingdom of God, and our commitment to Christ. To learn more, listen to the show, or go to www.financialdiscipleship.ca. Tell us how you answered that question this week by leaving a comment on the More Than Enough facebook page.
