Dave and Reb talk with special guest Doug Pawson, Director of Social Business and Social Finance at Ottawa’s Causeway Work Centre on today’s show. They discuss the opportunities and assistance available to people with mental illness through this not-for-profit agency, and how their Causeway Community Finance Fund is helping people gain freedom from payday loans.
The Centre has been helping people in the Ottawa area for many years, and is working to empower people and strengthen the community. They do this by developing social businesses that not only employ people but provide the city with expertise while addressing societal goals and developing partnerships with other enterprises.
Dave says this organization has been following the words of Jesus by “offering a cup of cold water” to those in need and working to alleviate the impact of poverty in our city.
