Talking about the Seed with Pastor Ray Borg
Sometimes it’s about the seed. Sometimes it’s about the soil. And other times it is about the weeds and other plants that choke, smother and strangle that good seed.
On today’s Let’s Talk Money show, regular guest Pastor Ray Borg from Financial Discipleship Canada talks with Dave and Reb about the Parable of the Sower and the Seed from Luke 8. They take a closer look at what it means to be choked by the cares, riches and pleasures of this life, when in fact, God calls us to be a people that bear much fruit.
“Worries, stresses, bills, sickness, increased living costs and lost income are only a few of the “thorns” that can choke the life out of us,” Dave says. “When we focus on those things we lose sight of God, faith and trust.”
Taking time with our Father and Saviour Jesus Christ is one of the keys to not letting this happen says Pastor Borg.
However, in our world where we have so little margin financially, relationally, emotionally and physically, we would rather escape from the pressures we face through entertainment or escapism than step back into God’s presence.
“But He keeps calling us and inviting us back into His presence where we can exchange our burdens and cares for His yoke, His ways, His rest,” Reb says.
