Credit Counsellor Debbie Doyle from Doyle Salewski Inc., Licensed Insolvency Trustee, speaks with Dave and Reb on Let’s Talk Money today and shares the journey they have been on with Canadians struggling with debt, in this time of Covid -19, physical distancing, and economic slow-down.

On today’s show she shares how 2020 has been both the busiest of times (pre-pandemic) and the slowest of times (post-pandemic lockdown) for their financial counselling and restructuring services business.

In this time of economic uncertainty, Debbie and David both agree that it is the right time for people to get a good look at their finances.

“Right now people are being given the opportunity to examine their financial situation in a calm way because creditors have backed off,” she says.

Debbie recommends that people need to prayerfully look at their finances during this time, and if people are in trouble financially, they need to consider talking to financial coaches, advisors or licensed insolvency trustees to develop a plan going forward.

Dave and Reb both agree that praying over your finances is essential.

“This is a really important part of the puzzle, so that in the event things don’t go the way people are anticipating, they will have a plan coming out of the pandemic lockdown,” Dave says.
