“Why do I hate money?”

If some of you are feeling like money is a “necessary evil” and you don’t know why you feel hatred towards it, then today’s “Let’s Talk Money with Dave and Reb” is the podcast for you. Together, they discuss the heart issues around this attitude, and how it may be driving you to avoid your finances. They offer some tips like lament and gratitude, to help you face your finances with hope.

“As we often say at More Than Enough – it’s not about the money,” Reb says. “It is often about our behaviour, our communication, our relationship to money from past history, that causes us to feel such strong emotions. Really, I think there is more going on than just hating money.”

Dave and Reb know the feelings and attitudes are real, and try to offer some tips to help you move past those negative emotions into a place where you can face your finances.

They suggest a time of lament or venting – but in a healthy place to people you trust. Add to that “saying thanks” to God for all you are and all you have.

“Regular expression of gratitude is an awesome tool and practise to move us into a new place of insight,” Reb says. “Writing down what you are thankful for every day is a good start.”

In today’s show, Dave and Reb reference an article by Kristin Wong entitled “How to manage Money When You Hate Money”. https://www.kristinwong.com/how-to-manage-money-when-you-hate-money/
