On this Good Friday morning, Dave and Reb of “Let’s Talk Money” welcome Rev. Ray Borg of Financial Discipleship Canada to their discussion about the cost of spiritual and financial freedom. As Jesus was focused by the love of His Heavenly Father as He gave up His own will going to the Cross, so we too can live with this example at work within us. Together, they look at the attitudes of entitlement that threaten our financial freedom, as well as our ability to obey God’s financial principles.
Rev. Borg says Christ gave to us out of love, and He sacrificed out of love for His Father, and we can live the same way, especially in regards to our money.
“Surrendering our money to Him as worship is an act of love, and then leads us to be obedient in the midst of hardship,” Rev. Borg says.
Dave agrees that it is God’s love for us that keeps us focused on His financial Biblical principles, and helps us make the hard choices that are sometimes a part of the journey.
