There is a rhythm in giving you can discover on your financial journey, and Dave and Reb explore this topic with regular guest Rev. Ray Borg on today’s “Let’s Talk Money” podcast. Together they look at giving as an act of worship, and how it is an expression of our own gratitude and love to God even as we give to others.
“Everything I have belongs to the Lord,” Rev. Borg says. “We give out of a sense of gratitude because the Lord has given us so much.”
They look at the giving Scriptures found in 2 Corinthians 9 where God admonishes us to decide what we want to give, and then give it cheerfully. “Remember: A stingy planter gets a stingy crop; a lavish planter gets a lavish crop. I want each of you to take plenty of time to think it over, and make up your own mind what you will give. That will protect you against sob stories and arm twisting. God loves it when the giver delights in the giving.” (2 Corinthians 9:6-7, The Message)
