Today, on “Let’s Talk Money”, Dave and Reb continue the Budget Busting discussion they started at the beginning of September. Their More Than Enough coaching team had so many ideas and thoughts about what affects budgets, they decided to keep the conversation going.
One of the big pieces of advice they offer is for people to plan their spontaneity. When people are out and about and see something they haven’t planned for, or want to order something from a restaurant, they spend money they don’t have and for this, Dave and Reb have a suggestion.
“This may sound like an odd idea, but if you can put ‘spontaneity’ as a line item in your budget or spending plan, as we like to call it, and you put money regularly and automatically into that ‘account’ or ‘envelope’, you won’t be caught going into debt over something you haven’t planned for,” Reb says. “I guess it’s planned spontaneity!”
