Expectations and circumstances keep changing in today’s economic climate, and Dave and Reb understand that the word “no” is becoming increasingly important. On today’s episode of “Let’s Talk Money with Dave and Reb”, they look at why saying “no” to some things in our lives will be essential to avoid financial trouble ahead.
Today, Dave shares an analogy to help listeners understand.
“Financially, many of us have been driving on a six-lane highway with lots of room to make mistakes, correct, and have freedom to move and spend,” Dave says. “However, as our economy becomes more challenging, it is like we are now driving on a two-lane highway in the mountains, and we are driving ever nearer to the guard rail.”
Dave and Reb encourage listeners to be financially aware, and also to make financial plans as the economy squeezes their finances.
“With driving so close to the financial guard rails, people may not be able to spend as they have over the past few years when interest rates have been so low,” Dave says. “We now need to navigate these changes with our commitments, and perhaps we need to say ‘no’ sometimes, so that we can say ‘yes’ to others.”
