This week, the topic centres on Luke 16:13-14, when Jesus declares that it is impossible to serve both God and mammon. It was a challenge to the Pharisees who, the Bible says, loved money.
Money brings power, and that is often what underlies what we seek. Whether it is power, money, or possessions, there is a warning and encouragement from Jesus, to seek God first and serve Him only.
“We need to look at what has captured our hearts and what is taking us off course,” Dave says. “Then we can bring it all to the feet of the Lord, and surrender it to Him.”
