On Let’s Talk Money today, Dave and Reb look back at their two month focus of prayer and finances that highlights our daily walk with God, and many stories of how God answers our financial prayers.
Reading through John 9 and the story of the blind man receiving his sight, they compare physical blindness to our own financial blind spots.
“If we aren’t facing our finances, then we aren’t coming to God with our finances either,” Reb says. “And this can be our greatest blind spot in finances.”
As they have said many times in their business and on this podcast, one key to financial breakthrough is to FACE your finances – Financial Awareness Creates Empowerment.
“The blind man knew he was blind, but in our finances we may not know we are blind,” Reb says. “Our financial house is crumbling and we are acting like nothing is wrong.”
Dave and Reb encourage listeners to come to God, FACE their financial picture and sit in the mess.
“Tell God you need His anointing – just as the blind man did – to receive your financial sight,” Dave says. “God knows how to anoint your eyes so that you will see, and then you will be able to act in obedience.”
They also encourage listeners to take the time with God to hear His Word for each situation that arises, digging into some of the 2350 verses in the Bible that speak about money and possessions.
“Take the time to FACE what is going on, and ask him for help,” Dave says. “His Word is full of direction for finances, so open the Scriptures if you don’t know, and dig in and see what He says.”
Remember – God can guide each of us out of our financial mistakes.
“When we make our mistakes He guides us out,” Reb says. “And if we can encourage anyone in discovering their blind spots, it is to FACE it with Him. He anoints our eyes so we can see. We can turn to Him in our mistakes, and He guides us out.
