University life and money
Dave and Reb continue the conversation this week with their daughter Mercedes as they talk about living the university life and what that means for stress and anxiety levels as students live off loans and grants, while working part-time jobs.
Mercedes gives recommendations about how to look after yourself financially as a student, paying yourself and budgeting specific amounts to live off of every month. She also talks about making sure you know what is coming in and out of your bank account every week, so you are aware of where you are at financially.
Together, they also look at the importance of being accountable to a trusted parent or friend. According to Mercedes, It is an important part of your post-secondary education to share your heart and financial journey, especially if money is limited and you find yourself in a tight spot.
