Trusting through the Obstacles with Pastor Jeremy Hanscom
Ottawa Pastor Jeremy Hanscom once again visits Dave and Reb on “Let’s Talk Money” to talk about how they are working through financial and building project obstacles at Calvary Pentecostal Church.
In a March 2017 show, Pastor Hanscom shared how God was building faith in their congregation as they were witness to miracles of provision over and above what they could have imagined. Now over a year later, they wait and hold on to Christ as they take more steps forward.
They have experienced building permit delays as well as an extra development fee that they were not expecting. This added an extra $300,000 to their $1.5 million project and they are still unclear on how all of it will be covered. (This development fee for charitable organizations was passed by Ottawa’s council in 2014 and many people have been unaware of the change, including Pastor Hanscom and the church he pastors.)
Pastor Hanscom says they are learning to stand and wait together on the Lord. He believes the congregation is getting stronger together through this process. They have made some changes to recoup the cost, but the Lord has yet to make the way clear for the rest.
“We are called to trust when we don’t know the future,” he says.
