Favourite Books and Resources

Pastor Ray Borg from Financial Discipleship Canada joins Dave and Reb on “Let’s Talk Money” as they share some of their favourite financial and spiritual books and resources that have helped them on their spiritual and financial journey with the Lord over the past years.

“It is almost Christmas and we thought we would encourage everyone in their holiday reading selections,” Reb says.

The three of them site books written by Randy Alcorn, John Rinehart, Gail Vaz-Oxlade, Howard Dayton, Brene Brown, James Bryan Smith, Justin Welby, and even Kevin O’Leary.

Their suggestions are by no means comprehensive, but they include a variety of books that cover more than just finances.

“We talk about the heart issues of money on the show, and so much of what’s behind money decisions involves what we are thinking and believing about ourselves, about God and about what brings us happiness,” Dave says. “God can use the wisdom in all of these books to change us and our behaviour.”

While there are many good books to read – there are hundreds and hundreds of books on money and finances – Dave encourages people to read God’s Word first and foremost.

“The book of Proverbs is my go-to book for financial wisdom,” Dave says. “And since there are 31 chapters and 31 days in most months, you can read one chapter a day to find the practical wisdom you need for daily living.”

Dave, Reb and Pastor Ray don’t seem to have enough time to share all the resources they love, but their list can be found on this week’s More Than Enough blog found on this website.
