What Are You Committed To?

It takes diligence and commitment to become financially free. On today’s radio show Dave and Reb talk about the importance of commitment in our lives. Proverbs 13:4 says “the soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, but the soul of the diligent is made fat.” This is just one of the verses they share that speaks to the rewards of commitment.

“Commitment to your finances is an important key to financial success,” Days says. “I always say that if we don’t make intentional decisions and commit to them, we will revert to the debt culture that surrounds us.”

They emphasize the importance of the purpose and dreams behind the commitment to financial goals and pursuits.

“Being committed to something takes diligent pursuit,” Dave says.

Commitment means making practical decisions every day that reflect your purpose and goals.

“To uncover and understand what you are committed to, take a look at your calendar and bank account and watch where you invest most of your time and money,” Reb says. “You will start to get a clear picture of your current reality, and whether what you say you are committed to matches what your calendar and finances tell you.”

For another practical tip, Dave and Reb encourage listeners to make a list of all the things they are committed to, from relationships to healthy eating, and everything in between. Then they suggest taking the top 10 commitments from that list and determine whether what you are committed to, actually matches your heart goals.
