It is Canada Day weekend and on today’s show, Dave and Reb look at the building of Canada’s Railroad across the nation in the late 1800s as the fulfillment of a promise to the province of British Columbia. This epic task took planning, purpose, preparation, and perseverance.

Reb recently took a train across part of Ontario, and this got her thinking about the effort, the work, the hardships, the planning, and the dreaming it took to fulfill this grand project. So today, Dave and Reb compare the laying of railroad tracks to the tracks we lay in our finances to get us to our desired financial destination.

“For some of us, laying the tracks financially takes just as much perseverance and effort and planning,” Reb says. “The land – yet unknown – had to be explored, surveyed and prepared, and needed surveyors to do that work.”

Likewise, Dave says, the financial landscape ahead of us is unknown, and people need to be planning ahead so that debt doesn’t trap them.

“In our case, we do have a great and all knowing surveyor, who knows the financial terrain ahead of us and His name is Jesus,” Dave adds.

Listen to learn how Jesus has already gone before us as the greatest surveyor, and prepared our way through all kinds of financial obstacles.
