After last week’s discussion about the Canadian Railway System, Dave and Reb continue their conversation by looking at the practical steps involved in laying financial tracks that lead to financial freedom.

These well-laid tracks include:

  • determining a clear destination,
  • trusting God and understanding He is our provider
  • seeking God and reading His Word to discover what He says about money and possessions.

“Keeping our eyes focused on Jesus, as it says in Hebrews 12, is crucial for following a good financial path,” Dave says. “And He is the One who helps us discover and grab hold of the clear destinations for our lives.”

Dave and Reb readily admit that financial freedom takes perseverance and vigilance. As the American Abolitionist Wendell Phillips said in 1852, “Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.”

Some of the practical suggestions they continue to encourage people to pursue are:

  • creating and living by a spending plan
  • learning to be generous and giving to others in need
  • cutting up credit cards and using cash
  • having an accountability partner
  • doing a financial bible study
