At the end of this year, Dave and Reb take time to reflect on this past year of 2021. On today’s show, they talk about taking time to grieve the losses of the year, but also to give thanks for God’s presence and guidance. They talk about the importance of grieving and gratitude, as they direct listeners to reflect on the story of Mary, the mother of Jesus.
“Mary’s life was certainly disrupted at the coming of the angel Gabriel,” Reb says. “Her pregnancy was out of her control, but she took God’s promise to heart – He was with her. And that is exactly what we need to do as we head into 2022.”
With the losses and joys of the past year, Dave and Reb encourage listeners to lament and mourn and offer those thoughts and feelings to the Lord.
“On the other side of that lament, will be a heart of thanksgiving,” Dave says. “And that is exactly what we see when Mary says ‘My soul praises the Lord’”.
