Many people struggle with daily financial cash flow management. Some of us watch our friends and family as they work through these challenges. On today’s episode of “Let’s Talk Money with Dave and Reb”, the co-hosts provide some tips for how to walk with people in financial crisis. There is no simple or easy answer, but Dave and Reb share some of the things they have learned “on the journey,” while admitting they haven’t always done it well.

Here are a few ideas they offer to listeners:

  • Pray for wisdom and understanding, as well as the right timing to ask the questions and have the discussions.
  • Show up with compassion and humility. Leave advice-giving at the door. Sometimes good questions, a listening ear, and your presence is all that’s needed.
  • Ask good questions. If you want to understand the importance of questions listen to these two “Let’s Talk Money with Dave and Reb” podcasts with Coach Dr. Keith Webb.
  • Find formal help from a financial coach, advisor, or pastor. There is wisdom to glean from others who have experience in walking with people through financial challenges.
  • If you find that your friend or family member isn’t hearing your concerns, follow the model found in Matthew 18:15-20 where you involve others in your community to walk through the process.
