So what will it take for you to become rich? On episode #343 of “Let’s Talk Money with Dave and Reb”, the co-hosts dig into the topic of riches with Rev. Ray Borg from notmine.ca. Looking at the church of Laodicea in Revelation 3, they talk about the economic strength of the city in ancient times, and how its prosperity brought a false sense of security and well-being.

The gold, garments, and eye salve were goods that brought much prosperity to Laodicea. The church was likely experiencing that prosperity, and in the Revelation passage, Jesus is pointing out the blindness this is causing. As He did to the church then, so does He warn us and call to us today. He invites us to buy what is everlasting—gold refined in fire, His white garments, and the eye salve that comes from His hand.

Dave and Reb encourage listeners today to draw close to God to hear Him knocking at the door of their hearts and lives in these uncertain days.
